Erica Marquez Avitia is the Chief Operating Officer of Old Mission Holdings LLC, a premier global quantitative market making firm and one of the largest liquidity providers in the ETF ecosystem. In this role, she works with the Managing Partners to advance the organization’s vision, strategic priorities, and growth goals across equity, options, and ETF markets. Marquez Avitia is responsible for developing and implementing value-enhancing processes for global business units, leveraging her deep expertise in exchange-traded products and financial markets infrastructure. She is also a Partner at Innovative AV Systems (MBE, VBE), an audio-visual integration company servicing commercial office needs in the Chicagoland area.
Prior to joining Old Mission Capital LLC in 2013, Marquez Avitia was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs in their Securities Servicing Division, where she developed extensive knowledge of the financial services industry’s operational complexities. Through managing relationships with some of Goldman Sachs’ premier liquidity providers in the equities, options, and ETF space, she gained invaluable insight into market structure, trading workflows, and the evolving ETF landscape. This experience helped her find her calling — helping clients build out their businesses within the investment industry and navigate the increasingly sophisticated world of exchange-traded products.
In addition to her love of finance and entrepreneurial efforts, Marquez Avitia serves on the Secure Choice Savings Board for the State of Illinois, the Board of the Metropolitan Planning Council and the Corporate Advisory Board for the Chicago Chapter of ALPFA. She was named to Chicago United’s 2023 Business Leaders of Color as well as DePaul University’s 2024 Department of Finance Alum of the Year and 2024 Member of the Year for Angeles Investors. She takes great pride in being a founding member of Angeles Investors with a strong belief in finding, funding, and growing the next generation of Latino entrepreneurs. Marquez Avitia is a board member for the Chicago Finance Exchange as well as a founding member of the Chicago chapter of Chief, both organizations focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders. Marquez Avitia earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance from DePaul University and resides in Chicago, Illinois with her family.
