As managing director, Val leads Schwab’s retail service organization supporting brokerage, banking and participant services clients. In this role, Val is responsible for strategic direction, talent, support and day-to-day activities representing over 6,000 professionals. Prior to joining Schwab, Val held various leadership roles at both TD Ameritrade and Merrill Lynch. With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Val has led client-facing organizations, risk management and brokerage operations in both the Retail and Institutional businesses.
Val is a graduate of The Wharton School, Securities Industry Institute (SII), Cornell SC Johnson School of Business Accelerating Leader Capability Program and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Rider University. She has her Six Sigma Greenbelt, and a number of FINRA securities licenses, including the Series 7, 63, 24, 4 and 3.
Originally from New Jersey, she currently resides in Texas with her husband and 3 children.
